MF industry resolves over 99% of complaints received within a month

Overall, the mutual fund industry received 17,751 complaints in FY 2019-20.
    Bhakti Makwana Jul 13, 2020

The latest AMFI data shows that most AMCs were able to resolve investor complaints within 30 days. Of the 17,721 complaints received during the year, only 154 complaints were unresolved after 30 days.

That means, over 99% or 17573 of the total complaints received have been resolved within 30 days.

An analysis of AMFI data reveals that investors have generally raised complaints regarding data updation, correction in investor details or discrepancy in statement of accounts.

Among AMCs, HDFC MF received the highest number of complaints (5,293) followed by L&T MF with 2,864 and ICICI Prudential MF 2,340 complaints. Typically, fund houses having higher number of folios tend to see higher complaints.

IIFL MF and IDBI MF received the lowest number of complaints partly due to less number of folios.

Please note that the data does not include complaint data of Kotak Mahindra MF, ITI MF and IL&FS MF due to unavailability of this data on AMFI website.

CAMS has not been working at all on Complaints since a long time. I am just siting a few examples:-
1). One of my investor has expired & his nominee submitted the transmission forms of 4 amcs serviced by cams on 08-06-20 but till date neither the units have been transmitted nor there is any communication to the deceased investor/ nominee or myself as registered MFD while email ids & mobile no.s of all are registered with them.
CAMS must have acted upon the requests Professionally as well as Humanly in more than a month. When the family is already aggrieved, CAMS People like Ms Geeta & Mr Gaurav Sehgal from Delhi don't even respond to let me know the TAT of such transactions.
2). Updation of Contact Details is necessary as all the things like Capital Gains Statements(must for filing I. Tax) come on registered email ids. The requests submitted on 03-06-20 have not been updated till date & nobody from cams respond to my emails of letting me know the TAT of such transactions.
3). I submitted my Self Declaration for FY 2019-20 at cams, Rohtak on 03-06-20 but that has not been updated till date & after writing a no. of cams executives, I got a response that it has rejected due to OLd Format used. Don't you think I must be communicated about the rejection in the last more than a month when my email id & mobile are already registered?

The cams people write they are representing the Customer Delight arm of cams but they are not acting for Investors or MFDs in any way.
