MFD Ravi Kumar on December 10, 2020 became the sarpanch of Haripur gram panchayat, which is one of the biggest panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir with over 3000 voters. Ravi said that mutual funds helped him in a big way, as his clients projected him as an earnest and well-meaning person who was fit for the village administrator job.
“Being a sincere and efficient mutual fund distributor has helped me build credibility in a big way. Since my clients have faith in me and are happy with my services, their blessings and wishes worked in my favour. I feel people perceive me as an honest and dependable person for the job,” said Ravi.
When asked how he will juggle his dual responsibilities as a sarpanch and distributor, Ravi said that he reserves the morning and evening hours for panchayat work. He feels that these two things actually complement each other.
“Now when I meet people including officers in the administration, I share my visiting card and use every opportunity to talk about the relevance of mutual funds. It gives me immense pleasure when top officers in the administration understand the importance of mutual fund investment and encourage their office employees to invest in mutual funds.”
