Ahead of International Women's Day, L&T Mutual Fund celebrated the zeal of successful Women Mutual Fund distributors at the event ‘Women of Merit’ held on March 1, 2021.

The initiative launched through a digital event was held to salute the spirit of Indian women advisors in the Rs 32 lakh crore MF industry. The event had seen participation from around 80 odd women MFDs/advisors along with other successful women from the business and corporate fraternity.

The objective of the initiative is to acknowledge the growing contribution of women in making the Indian mutual fund industry increasingly inclusive.

The three-hour programme was marked by a unique mix of light-hearted events filled with fun and laughter. There was a reading session by Hindustani vocalist and author Smt. Shubha Mudgal of her book 'Looking for Miss Sargam' which has 7 stories of music & misadventure. She narrated an engaging story from her book in her unique style.

Popular dietician Luke Coutinho shared insights on key habits that should be followed to maintain a holistic mental, physical and emotional balance, sustainable diet plan, and with simple lifestyle changes how one can reduce stress and also how parents could work on hormonal imbalance issues with young girls of today.

This was followed by a magical performance by multi award-winning mentalist and illusionist Wayne Hoffman. Hoffman, recognized as one of the top mentalists in the world, presented his award-winning show 'Distant Deceptions' which, though virtually held, had all the elements of a physical event-setting, wicked humour, drama, tears, laughter.

In the concluding session, India's first woman mixologist Smt. Shatbhi Basu held a live cocktail making session where all the participants made cocktails on their own by using ingredients provided by the fund house prior to the event.

The event was hosted by Celebrity host Cyrus Broacha popularly known as The Professional Idiot.

In a communication, the fund house said that the event was created with a specific purpose to celebrate entrepreneurial excellence and recognise that spirit of womanhood for all their distributor partners.

The fund house said, “In today's world, many investors are relying on trained professionals to help them understand the markets and stay committed to their long-term goals. India's wealth management industry – has seen a reasonable representation of women money managers, partners and distributors whose trail-blazing achievements could inspire many more women to enter the field. We at L&T Mutual Fund are celebrating the zeal of successful women money managers across the country in March 2021 on the occasion of Women's Day. L&T Mutual Fund's digital platform "Women of Merit" has been launched to celebrate entrepreneurial excellence and recognise the spirit of womanhood for our entire distributor Partners.”

Kailash Kulkarni, CEO, L&T Mutual Fund said, "We wanted to acknowledge the contribution of women, who have been successfully managing their professional and personal lives with dotted commitment, especially during the pandemic. While the presence of a number of women mutual fund distributors is encouraging, we would like to see an increasing number of women participating in the growth of the asset management industry as India’s investment inclusion objectives could be achieved faster. This International Women’s Day, I appeal that every woman should aim to be financially literate and invest to help realize self and family’s life-stage goals. Women inherently have the natural skills to save and now to invest well and are already inspiring other women to take control of their finances.”
