    Bimal will replace Sharad Sharma who is taking on new responsibilities within the BNP Paribas Group.

    Bimal will replace Sharad Sharma who is taking on new responsibilities within the BNP Paribas Group.

    BNP Paribas Wealth Management has appointed Samir Bimal as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. He is also the Global Head of India Onshore Business. Bimal will replace Sharad Sharma who is taking on new responsibilities within the BNP Paribas Group.

    Samir will lead the Group’s Wealth Management unit in India and the teams located overseas who manage Non Resident Indian (NRI) clients’ assets invested in India. Based in Mumbai, he will report to Stephane Honig, Head of Wealth Management - Indian Markets, and locally to Jacques Michel, CEO and Country Head of BNP Paribas Group India.

    Samir brings with him extensive experience in wealth management. Before joining BNP Paribas Wealth Management, he was the Country Head of ING Private Banking in India, where he built a successful franchise over the last six years. Prior to ING Private Banking, he spent eight years with BNP Paribas Wealth Management in India as well as in the Middle East and was with Lazard for five years. Samir has a Masters in Finance from the University of Delhi and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Institute USA.
