NISM (National Institute of Securities Markets) and Crisil have jointly introduced a new course for financial intermediaries titled NISM & CRISIL Certified Wealth Manager (NCCWM) Program.
The program aims at developing a holistic perspective of wealth management.
SK Mohanty, Wholetime Member, SEBI and Director, NISM, said, “The need of the hour is to have wealth managers who can prescribe meaningful investment advice aligned to their clients’ risk tolerance, return expectation and financial needs. Also, given the fiduciary responsibilities of a wealth manager, it becomes equally important for them to be grounded in ethical principles, such as client confidentiality, transparency and objectivity.”
“The CRISIL-NISM programme will be the gold standard in wealth manager certification. It will help wealth managers sharpen their conceptual understanding, get a 360-degree view of the financial markets, credit conditions and economic environment, and gain insights on relevant trends across asset classes, thereby enabling stronger customer acquisition and retention, “said Ashu Suyash, MD & CEO, CRISIL.
Here are the key features of the program:
- It is an online program with a duration of 45 hours
- Individuals with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to register for the program
- This 3-hour long exam will be conducted digitally
- Candidates will have to secure at 60% marks to pass this exam
- The certification will be valid for three years
- Candidates will have to complete six hours training to renew their certificate every three years
- The registration fee for the program is Rs. 12,000 and the exam fee is Rs. 2,000 per attempt
