Now, your clients can open their NPS account completely paperless. PFRDA has resumed Aadhaar based authentication to complete eKYC in NPS.

The pension fund regulator has introduced eNPS to facilitate online onboarding of subscribers through Aadhaar.

In a press release, PFRDA said, “e-NPS is the online NPS on boarding portal hosted by the Central Record Keeping Agencies (CRA) appointed by PFRDA wherein one can register and contribute online into NPS and the existing Subscriber can activate their Tier II account. “

Now with government’s order, PFRDA has enabled the Aadhaar based online e-KYC authentication functionality for subscriber registration in e NPS platform, said the regulator.

Your clients can subscribe to NPS by keying in their Aadhaar number or 16-digit virtual identification number and authenticate it through OTP received on the registered mobile number.

Here is the step-by-step process to open NPS account through Aadhaar authentication:

    • Visit eNPS portal and click on “National Pension System”
    • Click on registration and choose “Aadhaar Online/Offline KYC” from the dropdown
    • Key in Aadhaar number or virtual ID number provided by UIDAI
    • Generate and submit OTP received on the registered mobile number
