The centralized data keeping will be operational from January 15, 2013.
In a major relief to distributors across India, AMFI has started a process of maintaining the database of distributors at one place. Thus, distributors will not have to submit any changes in their address, telephone, etc. to each AMC separately. Instead they will now have to send a form to CAMS, which will maintain the database. This database will be shared with all AMCs and RTAs.
Presently distributors have to update their details with each AMC separately, which becomes a burden. AMFI also maintains a database of KYD compliant distributors.
AMFI has said that once the service is launched, distributors will have to submit the documents like annual self-certification only once.
