Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund has recently handed over the life insurance benefits to Mrs Ratnakumari, wife of late MFD Achuthan Kutty.
Achuthan passed away in March 2021 and is survived by his wife and two children. His son Arun currently manages his advisory business.
Achuthan was a member of ABSL MF’s Privilege Club - a loyalty program for MFDs. Arun shared, “We are grateful to ABSL MF for supporting us during such tough times. Sandeep Sundaran, Regional Head, Jidin Babu, Branch Head and the entire staff of ABSL MF Thrissur Branch guided us to complete the claim formalities seamlessly. They have been instrumental in ensuring the timely credit of insurance proceeds.”
Paying tribute to the departed soul, Manish Thacker, Head of Business Development & Emerging Markets at ABSL MF said, “There are a lot of sentiments attached with the Privilege Club, which always strives to stay with MFDs and their family through thick and thin.”
Achuthan will be always remembered for his unique way of selling mutual funds in rural India. He was an active member of the Kerala Association of Independent Financial Advisor (AIFA) and was much admired by his peers.
Cafemutual was honored to have late Achuthan at the CIF 21, where he shared his inspiring story with Sunil Subramaniam, MD, Sundaram MF. Late Achuthan catered to financial needs of villagers in Thrissur district by moving in an auto-rickshaw. His mobile office reached their doorsteps with mutual funds and other financial products.
