    HDFC, SBI and ICICI Prudential continue to lead the debt game

    Tata, Edelweiss and PPFAS report the highest growth in percentage terms last quarter.

    HDFC MF, SBI MF and ICICI Prudential MF have secured the top three spots in the debt space. An analysis by team Cafemutual shows that HDFC MF, SBI MF and ICICI Prudential MF have debt book of Rs. 2.27 lakh crore, 2.19 lakh crore and Rs. 2.10 lakh crore, respectively.

    Aditya Birla Sun Life MF (Rs. 1.73 lakh crore) and Kotak Mahindra MF (Rs. 1.42 lakh crore)  occupy the fourth and fifth spots.

    Nippon India MF (Rs. 1.08 lakh crore), Axis MF (Rs. 96,656 crore), IDFC MF (Rs. 91,588 crore), UTI MF (Rs. 67,182 crore) and DSP MF (Rs. 35,866 crore) occupy the next five spots. 

    Debt AUM comprises liquid fund, income funds, gilt funds and other categories of debt funds.

    Many top companies have witnessed their debt AUM shrink marginally compared to the previous quarter. Among the top 25 companies, ABSL MF, Baroda MF and Motilal Oswal have recorded over 5% decline in their debt AUM.

    On the other hand, companies that have seen AUM growth were Tata MF, Edelweiss MF and PPFAS MF. Tata MF has recorded highest growth in percentage terms. Its debt AUM has increased by 47% from Rs. 20,296 crore in Sep 21 to Rs. 29,800 crore in Dec 21. Edelweiss MF and PPFAS MF have reported the next highest growth of 11% and 7%, respectively.
