    Report card: Which fund houses have seen the highest growth in their assets in CY 2024?

    Overall, the AUM of the MF industry increased by 40% in the last one year.

    An analysis of AMFI AUM data by Cafemutual reveals that SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF have seen the highest growth in their AUM in the last one year.

    SBI MF has registered the highest increase in AUM of Rs. 2.63 lakh crore in absolute terms. The fund house’s AUM  has grown from Rs. 8.51 lakh crore in December 2023 to Rs. 11.14 lakh crore in December 2024.   

    ICICI Prudential MF occupies the second spot with AUM growth in  absolute terms of Rs. 2.59 lakh crore from i.e. Rs. 6.15 lakh crore in December 2023 to Rs. 8.74 lakh crore in December 2024.

    HDFC MF rounds off the top three as it has recorded AUM growth of Rs.2.36 lakh crore in one year i.e. from Rs. 5.52 lakh crore in December 2023 to Rs. 7.87 lakh crore in December 2024.

    Nippon India MF and Kotak MF capture the next two spots with AUM growth of Rs. 1.92 lakh crore and Rs.1.38 lakh crore, respectively in one year. While Nippon India MF’s AUM has increased to Rs. 5.70 lakh crore in December 2024,  Kotak MF’s AUM saw its AUM increasing from Rs. 3.51 lakh crore in December 2023 to Rs. 4.89 lakh crore in December 2024.

    Other fund houses who have seen growth in assets in excess of Rs. 1 lakh crore in their AUM in one year are UTI MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Axis MF, DSP MF and Tata MF.

    In percentage terms, Zerodha MF has seen the highest growth of 4074% in its AUM from Rs. 92 lakh crore in December 2023 to Rs. 3,840 crore in December 2024.

    Helios MF has recorded an impressive 649% growth from Rs. 392 crore to Rs. 2,936 crore during this one year. Groww MF is third on the list with a 221% growth in its assets from Rs. 479 crore to Rs. 1,538 crore.

    Other fund houses who have recorded a healthy growth of over 150% in their AUM in the last one year are Bajaj Finserv MF, JM Financial MF and Shriram MF.

    Overall, the MF industry AUM has recorded a growth of Rs. 19.39 lakh crore in 2024 from Rs. 49.23 lakh crore to Rs. 68.62 lakh crore, an increase of about 40%.
