    What is the proportion of MF AUM of your region?

    Overall, the mutual fund AUM is skewed towards western India. Read on to know what the geographic spread of mutual funds looks like.

    An analysis of region-wise average Assets Under Management (AAUM) as on Dec 2021 by Cafemutual shows that mutual funds are highly concentrated in West India. Maharashtra alone manages Rs. 16.27 lakh crore of assets, which forms 42.90% of the industry’s AAUM of Rs. 37.92 lakh crore.   

    Talking about other states across India, no single state contributes more than 10%. Let us take a closer at these numbers.

    Northern region

    The north India accounts for 18% of the total industry average AUM. Five northern states - New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir contribute 8.42%, 4.20%, 4.05%, 1.09%, 0.36%, 0.23% and 0.12%, respectively.

    Northeast region  

    The state-wise contribution is less than 1% - Assam (0.51%), Meghalaya (0.07%), Tripura (0.04%), Nagaland (0.04%), Sikkim (0.04%), Arunachal Pradesh (0.03%), Manipur (0.02%) and Mizoram (0.02%).  

    Eastern India

    The east zone forms around 8% of industry AAUM. The share of West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar stand at 5.12%, 0.94%, 0.93% and 0.85%, respectively.

    South India

    The overall contribution of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala is 15%. Individually, their share is 6.99%, 4.23%, 1.64%, 1.24% and 1.06%, respectively.

    Western part

    More than half (52%) of the industry assets are from the west zone. Maharashtra leads with a 42.90% share in industry assets, followed by Gujarat (6.85%), Rajasthan (1.69%) and Goa (0.57%).

    Central India

    Madhya Pradesh (1.33%) and Chhattisgarh (0.52%) add only a miniscule AUM to the industry.

    An overall review shows, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat and West Bengal are the top-five states/UT in terms of AAUM. They collectively account for Rs. 26.64 lakh crore i.e. 70% of industry assets.

    100% upar ka data Ardha Satya Hai. Usme yeh nahi bataya hai ki Local public ka aur Institution ka kitna paisa hai. Because Local public ko save karne diya nahi jata hai. Unhe naukri pe bane rehne ke liye extortion dhamki hisab se home loan aur top up home loan diya jata hai.
