    Filing of application for registration gets easier as all local and regional offices will accept the applications.

    Filing of application for registration gets easier as all local and regional offices will accept the applications.

    SEBI has allowed filing application for registration as an investment adviser with the regional and local offices of SEBI under the jurisdiction of which the registered address of the applicant falls, according to a SEBI press release. 

    At present SEBI has its Head Office at Mumbai and 4 Regional Offices i.e. Eastern Regional Office at Kolkata, Northern Regional Office at Delhi, Southern Regional Office at Chennai and Western Regional Office-II at Ahmedabad. SEBI has opened 9 local offices at Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow and Patna.

    Interestingly, advisers can now view information relating to them on the SEBI website  in the section “"info for Investment Advisers".
