Sanjiv Duggal is Head of Asian and Indian Equities while Viresh Mehta is Head of Equities of HSBC India AMC.
HSBC Global Asset Management today announced appointments for two key posts to strengthen its Asian equity fund management team.
Sanjiv Duggal, currently serving HSBC as Investment Director and lead Manager of HGIF Indian Equity fund, is to be appointed as Head of Asian and Indian Equities. Duggal has been with HSBC MF for last 17 years in Mumbai, London and Singapore and will move to Hong Kong in his new role. He will continue to manage HSBC’s Indian Equity Fund.
Viresh Mehta, Senior Portfolio Managerfor the HGIF Indian Equity Fund will be appointed as Head of Equities. He will relocate to Mumbai. Mehta has worked with HSBC Global Asset Management in Mumbai and Singaporefor 11 years.
Both the appointments are subject to regulatory approvals.

HSBC is adding further to its team in Mumbai to support future growth in its domestic fund ranges and to provide analytics for its international funds that invest in Indian equities.
HSBC Mutual Fund manages Rs 5230 crore as on March 31, 2013.
