The 14th edition of Mutual Fund Round Table (MFRT) felicitated over 100 MFDs for their tireless efforts and outstanding performance. The MFDs were recognised across four broad categories - MFRT Samman Awards, AMC Legacy Awards, MFRT Taj Qualifiers and MFRT Imperial Qualifiers.

MFRT Samman Awards
Amit Srivastava - Hailed from Deoria, a small city in Uttar Pradesh, Amit has a rare disease called ankylosing spondylitis. This is an inflammatory disease, which causes chronic pain and requires regular and expensive medical treatment. However, Amit’s never say die attitude does not stop him from helping others live their financial dreams. He believes that staying in constant touch and keeping clients interest first helped him to grow business. He currently manages around Rs. 50 crore of assets from close to 2000 clients.
Ashok Kumar Thukral - The Uttar Pradesh MFD started his mutual fund distribution journey in 2003. He currently manages an AUM of over Rs. 600 crore for over 2,000 clients. Notably, 80% of his AUM is from HNIs. Ashok also received CNBC North Indian Non Metro Best Advisor Award for 2014-15.
Devendra Goswami - The Ludhiana MFD formed BluRock Wealth in 2016 and caters exclusively to 60 HNI families. For his extraordinary contribution to the financial space, the State Government of Punjab honoured Devendra in July 2022 with the ‘Pillars of Indian Economy-Punjab Chapter’ award in the ‘Emerging’ Category.
Gurdesh Bhalla - The MFD started mutual fund distribution in 2007 in Kalka, a small town in Punjab While lack of financial awareness was a challenge, Gurdesh focused on need-based analysis and onboarded over 900 families. He has set for himself a 25-year goal of having 10,000 families under the mutual fund fold.
Neepa Khatri - The Pune MFD focuses on 3 Cs i.e. creation, conservation and continuation to create long-term and meaningful client relationships. After having a successful career as an individual MFD, she recently joined hands with six other like-minded MFDs to form Finnovators Services. Leveraging the power of collaboration, Finnovators Services manages over Rs. 800 crore AUM for more than 4,000 clients.
Priya Sunder and Shyam Sunder - The husband-wife duo encountered a disappointing experience while handing over their personal funds to an incompetent person. The incident made them think about many others who face similar experiences. This gave birth to PeakAlpha Investment Services in 2005 in Bengaluru. The duo operates on both, the distribution and RIA sides. So far, they have helped over 5,000 investors to streamline finances.
Rajesh Bansal - Rajesh is based out of Delhi and manages over Rs. 430 crore AUM for more than 2,000 families. He formed Midas Finserv in 2015 and also offers PMS and AIF solutions. Remarkably, Rajesh is a passionate equity analyst and trains his fellow distributors to understand market trends better. Through such sessions, he has helped over 1,000 MFDs to guide their clients better.
Ratnesh Varshey - The Aligarh MFD actively started distributing mutual funds in 2017 through an all-digital model. Ratnesh believes SIP drives and IAPs have been instrumental in his business success. He reaches out to over 500 clients/prospects every year through monthly IAPs. Ratnesh manages assets of Rs.65 crore and closely guides close to 2,000 retail investors to achieve their financial aspirations.
Sukanta Bhattacharya - The MFD operates in a remote town named Chittaranjan. The nearest city is Asansol which is 250 km away from the main city of Kolkata. Sukanta believes setting business goals and taking focused efforts help in achieving success. He has been actively distributing mutual funds since 2005 and currently manages over Rs. 300 crore assets for 1,000 plus clients.
Veerappan Aiyappan - The Mysore MFD started distributing mutual funds in 2018 in the name of Mera Funds Investment Services. He recently launched the ‘Freedom 10k’ initiative with a mission to impart financial literacy to 10,000 individuals every financial year. He has also written the book ‘Unleash your Financial Freedom’. Currently, Veerappan manages over Rs. 160 crore of AUM and caters to over 300 clients, of which 90% are NRIs.
