    MFs bet big on new listings Zomato, Star Health and PB Fintech in July

    Macrotech Developers was the most sold largecap stock for the second straight month, followed by Vedanta and Indus Towers.

    Mutual funds invested heavily in Zomato in July as the price of the food delivery company touched an all-time low. The value of Zomato shares held by AMCs surged to Rs. 1,340 crore at the end of July 2022 from Rs. 960 crore in June 2022, shows a report by ICICI Direct.

    The other major largecap buys include Berger Paints, UPL, Siemens and Piramal Enterprises.

    The largecap stocks which were sold the most include Macrotech Developers, Vedanta and Indus Towers. Macrotech was the most sold largecap stock in June as well. The total holding of mutual funds in the company has declined from Rs.242 crore to Rs.121 crore in two months.

    In the midcap segment, Star Health, PB Fintech and GMR Infrastructure witnessed the highest buying interest from mutual funds. Sun TV Network, Bharat Heavy Electricals and SAIL were other names in the list.

    The ones to be sold the most were Colgate-Palmolive, Oil India and L&T Technology.
