Edelweiss is the 12thplayer to gain the Investment Adviser registration.

SEBI has granted the certificate of registration to Edelweiss Investment Adviser Limited.

The SEBI Investment Adviser Regulation came into effect from April 21, 2013. With the implementation of these regulations, people who have not registered with SEBI are not allowed to use the term ‘adviser’ or ‘Investment Adviser’.

Also, Principal Retirement Advisor is waiting for SEBI’s registration as Investment Adviser.

In a press release, Nirmal Rewaria, SVP and Business Head, Edelweiss Financial Planning said “At Edelweiss, we understand the importance of listening - listening to our client’s goals, dreams and aspirations. We work closely with them to understand their current scenario and their future goals. It helps us a lot in creating a financial plan that is best suited for them. Also, a lot of people plan for life’s temporary events like birthday parties, job interviews and holidays while giving little or no attention to plan for something that’s going to be with them forever – their finances. Hence this service assumes a lot of importance in an individual’s life.”

So far, SEBI has granted certificate of license to 11 other distributors including 4 corporate entities to act as Investment Advisers. Among individuals, Prakash Praharaj, Kavitha Menon, Jatin Thukral, Amit Kukreja, Pankaj Kulkarni, Shitiz Gupta, Manjeet Singh Vohra have got the certificate of registration while ICICI Securities, SenSage, Valuefy and IFMR are the four corporate entities who had been granted registration.
