MFDs should avoid last minute ARN renewal to avoid unnecessary business disruptions like failure in transaction and commission forfeiture.
Now that AMFI has clarified that delay in ARN renewal will attract stringent action like commission forfeiture, MFDs should plan their ARN well in advance.
MFDs should be mindful of external factors like delay due to data feed and incomplete NISM profile.
There are instances where AMFI system takes time to fetch CPE data from NISM. Typically, it takes somewhere between 3 and 10 days. It may get delayed further if your NISM profile is not updated.
All these delays may cost forfeiture of trail commission earned during the expiry period.
But if the delay is due to unknown reasons, MFDs can still reach out to AMFI through CAMS distributors helpdesk.
While AMFI has discontinued physical renewal of ARN, MFDs can approach CAMS distributors helpdesk in an exceptional case. You will be required to carry NISM certificate to renew your ARN.
Currently, ARN holders are allowed to appear for CPE training and renew their ARN six months prior to the expiry date.
