New Delhi, Goa, and Maharashtra are the top three states and UTs in terms of AUM per capita, according to AMFI data. AUM per capita is the total AUM of the state/UT divided by total number of folios.
New Delhi, Goa, and Maharashtra have an AUM per capita of Rs. 1.67 lakh, Rs. 1.47 lakh and 1.36 lakh, respectively. Interestingly, these three states and union territories were in the top three positions in the previous year as well.
Next in line were Haryana and Karnataka with AUM per capita of Rs. 55,000 and Rs. 42,000, respectively.
Manipur, Bihar, and Tripura appeared in the bottom three in terms of AUM per capita.

In terms of AUM to GDP ratio which is MF assets of the state/UT compared to its GDP, the top five states and UTs are Maharashtra, Delhi, Goa, Haryana, and Karnataka which account for 60%, 42%, 28%, 21% and 17%.
On the other hand, states and UTs with the least AUM to GDP ratio were Manipur, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
