SEBI has relaxed fund raising norms for infrastructure debt funds.
SEBI has categorized pension funds, insurance funds, international/multilateral organizations/agencies, sovereign wealth funds, governmental agencies, foreign central banks as long term investors for the purpose of IDF.
It said that foreign feeder funds, having at all times, at least 20% of their assets under management held by investors belonging to one of more of the above mentioned categories can invest in IDFs.
Only AMCs and NBFCs are allowed to launch IDFs.
