    SEBI relaxes norms for infrastructure debt funds

    The regulator has allowed foreign feeder funds to invest in IDFs launched by AMCs.

    The regulator has allowed foreign feeder funds to invest in IDFs launched by AMCs.

    SEBI has relaxed fund raising norms for infrastructure debt funds.

    SEBI has categorized pension funds, insurance funds, international/multilateral organizations/agencies, sovereign wealth funds, governmental agencies, foreign central banks as long term investors for the purpose of IDF.

    It said that foreign feeder funds, having at all times, at least 20% of their assets under management held by investors belonging to one of more of the above mentioned categories can invest in IDFs.

    Only AMCs and NBFCs are allowed to launch IDFs.
