One in four women MF investors invest in mutual funds for retirement planning, shows a study done by Kuvera, an investment platform for direct investors.
Buying home, children education and buying a car are the next three important goals of women investors, shows the study. A few women also invest in mutual fund to fund their international holiday and save taxes. Let’s look at the table:
The study shows further that many women investors are from NCR, Bengaluru and Mumbai, indicating better financial literacy among women in metro cities. However, around six in 10 women investors were from tier 1 and 2 cities, indicating that financial literacy among women is not limited just to the top tier towns.
Currently, the platform has 16 lakh women investors which account for 26% of their total investor count. The average age of the women who have invested through the platform is 31.
