SEBI has said that 20% of the total investor awareness programs and activities has to be dedicated to women audience.

In fact, the market regulator has issued a notification to all capital market intermediaries including mutual funds to implement this with immediate effect.

With this, AMFI and fund houses will have to conduct women specific IAPs and run women specific campaigns.

In a communication, SEBI said, “It has been decided by the competent authority that, with a view to increase awareness about securities market among women in different fields, all MIIs shall henceforth conduct 20% of the Investor Awareness Programs (IAPs) and other awareness activities, dedicated to the entire women target audience in a financial year.”

Fund houses will have to update about such IAPs to SEBI on 5th of every month.

Now compared to the past quite a lot of IAPs are being conducted exclusively for women. Many clubs and corporates demand such sessions frequently. Also IAPs are not demanded only on the Women's day alone is the fact.
