The government has extended the deadline to link PAN and Aadhaar from March 31, 2023 to June 30, 2023.
Citing the rationale behind the extension, the government said in a press release, “In order to provide some more time to the taxpayers, the date for linking PAN and
Aadhaar has been extended to June 30, 2023.”
Failure to link PAN and Aadhaar within the stipulated timeline will make the PAN inoperative. Since PAN is mandatory for KYC compliance, your clients may not be able to invest in stocks and mutual funds.
“The PAN can be made operative again in 30 days, upon intimation of Aadhaar to the prescribed authority after payment of fee of Rs. 1,000”, said the Government.
