    SBI, ICICI Prudential and HDFC: Top three fund houses in T30 cities

    Overall, top 30 fund houses manage assets of Rs.33.05 lakh crore in T30 cities, which is 83% of the total assets of these fund houses.

    SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF are the top three fund houses in terms of T30 assets, shows AMFI data.

    While SBI MF manages Rs. 5.58 lakh crore, highest among all fund houses, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF manage the next highest AUM of Rs. 4.17 lakh crore and Rs. 3.66 lakh crore, respectively.

    Kotak MF, Nippon India MF and Aditya Birla Sun Life MF are the next three fund houses with T30 assets exceeding Rs. 2 lakh crore each.

    Following the top six are Axis MF, UTI MF and Bandhan MF (erstwhile IDFC MF) with assets of over Rs. 1 lakh crore each. Mirae Asset MF manages Rs. 98,366 crore and occupies the final spot in the top-ten list.

    In terms of proportion of T30 assets to the total assets, three fund houses - Edelweiss MF (96%), IIFL MF (93%) and Bandhan MF (erstwhile IDFC MF) (91%) have a major share of their assets coming from T30 cities.

    Overall, the top 30 fund houses manage Rs. 33.05 lakh assets in T30 cities, which form 83% of their total assets.

    Ranking methodology

    For our analysis, we have considered the top 30 fund houses in terms of quarterly average total AUM as on March 2023. These fund houses are then ranked based on their monthly average AUM in T30 cities as on March 2023.
