AMFI said that it would consider offering group health insurance to MFDs.

This has come after Kolkata MFD association Independent Consultants & Advisor Association (ICAA) urged NS Venkatesh, CEO, AMFI to consider offering group health insurance to MFDs and their families at the time of renewal. The association said that MFDs can bear the cost of premium from their pocket to get the benefits of group health insurance.

Venkatesh appreciated the suggestion and said that he would take this suggestion to the AMFI ARN committee.

If this goes through, more than 1 lakh individual MFDs and their families will benefit from health cover.

On the one hand, the expert says that the penetration between MFD v/s Insurance agents are very low. As per industry, the are looking to increase the number of MFD up to 5 lacs to achieve the figure of 100 lacs crore of MF industry and on the other hand, there are not any encouragement for bringing new MFD in the industry where taking various od steps to cut the earning relates for MFD

Amfi should do something on B30 and Trail commission issue as new MFDs are finding it difficult to survive with the new SEBI guidelines, As fas as Mediclaim is concerned we'll take care of that ourselves.
