Dehradun MFD Association, Northern Independent Advisors Welfare Society (NIAWS) recently conducted a plantation drive in which the members have implanted over 80 saplings.
Talking about this drive, Saral Agarwal, Secretary, NIAWS said, “This is our third annual drive where we encouraged our members and other industry participants to come forward and plant saplings for a better tomorrow.”
He further said that members from local social and spiritual groups also took part in this social initiative.
Saral said, “We mindfully picked native saplings that are well-suited to the local climate and collectively planted over 80 saplings, a mix of fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing. Of these NIAWS members voluntarily funded the cost of 50 saplings and other participants including MF officials bought some saplings on their own.”
NIAWS held this drive near a resort whose owners agreed to nurture the saplings and look after their overall maintenance.
Around 30 MFDs and 10 fund house representatives volunteered along with their families and friends. “Such drives give us a feeling of gratitude to be able to serve our society and echo that every individual can contribute to a greener future. Collectively, we hope to build a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society”, said Saral.
