The members of West Bengal’s MFD Association Independent Consultants & Advisor Association (ICAA) have taken a pledge to fund the education of a deceased
MFD’s daughter till she obtains employment.
The late MFD was a member of ICAA when he lost his battle to covid-19 in his early forties. His untimely demise left his wife and little daughter devastated. While his wife is working, her earnings are not sufficient enough to meet all expenses. “As soon as she approached ICAA for support, we encouraged our members to come forward and help the mother-daughter duo in such testing times”, said Goutam Karmakar, Founder-Chairman, ICAA.
He added, “25 members have voluntarily contributed Rs 3.50 lakh in the last one-and-a-half year. Currently, the little girl in the second grade. We pledge to fund all her educational needs till she obtains employment.”
The association also announced a strategic tie-up with Narayana Superspeciality Hospital for the benefit of its members.
Goutam explained, “During times of any medical emergencies, our member MFDs can reach out to the designated number which will help them to locate the nearest hospital branch. Additionally, the MFDs will also receive guidance on the first-aid treatment needed till they reach the nearest branch. Notably, MFDs can avail these services for not only themselves but also their family and friends.”
MFDs can reach out at the 24X7 patient helpline designated number 180-0309-0309.
“We have also requested the hospital authorities to offer medical treatment at concessional rates on case to case basis”, said Goutam.
The association made these key announcements at the recently held ICAA Regional MFD Summit-2023 at Bardhaman, a B-30 city in West Bengal. Over 350 MFDs attended the Summit which hosted over 20 speakers. The Summit touched upon the emerging industry trends and opportunities in B-30 cities. It also addressed other key topics like succession planning and cyber fraud among others.
