    FPSB appoints B.N. Srikrishna as Chairman of FPSB India

    B.N. Srikrishna will take over from Mr. Dhirendra Swarup, Former Chairman - Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

    B.N. Srikrishna will take over from Mr. Dhirendra Swarup, Former Chairman - Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

    Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB India), the Professional Standards Setting body for financial planners in India, announced the appointment of Justice (Retd.) Shri. B.N. Srikrishna, Former Chairman – Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission (FSLRC) as the Chairman of the Board of FPSB India for the term 2014-2015. He takes over from Mr. Dhirendra Swarup, Former Chairman - Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

    Justice (Retd.) Shri. B.N. Srikrishna is an eminent Indian jurist and a former Judge of the Supreme Court. Till recently, he served as the Chairman of Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission (FSLRC) which was established by Ministry of Finance, Government of India in March 2011, primarily to simplify and rewrite financial sector legislations and subordinate legislations. The Commission submitted its final report to the Government in March 2013 in which it recommended sweeping reforms in the financial sector in India including convergence of regulators and consumer centricity in regulations. He has also served as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Kerala. He was also the Chairman of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

    Justice (Retd.) Shri. B.N. Srikrishna, after his nomination, said, “The present times call for a more consumer centric approach in all domains of financial services sector and the convergence of regulations in the coming times would only further the wellbeing of financial consumers. As a public-private enterprise and professional standards setting body for financial planning, FPSB India has been doing a commendable work and it has been creating a league of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) professionals who are well equipped to provide unbiased and holistic advisories to financial consumers across all domains of financial services viz. insurance, mutual funds, securities, taxation, retirement etc.”

    Mr. Shailesh V. Haribhakti, Chairman - D.H. Consultants, Chairman of the Nomination Committee, said, “The Board of FPSB India seeks to benefit from the expertise and rich experience of Justice Srikrishna across a wide spectrum of domains including legislations, regulations etc. and further the financial planning movement in India.”
