    An analysis of AMFI data reveals that majority of equity assets has come from individual investors – retail and HNIs.

    The data reveals that 89% of the equity assets are held by individual investors as on September 2023.

    Interestingly, 40% of the total debt assets other than liquid and overnight funds are held by individual investors. Such a contribution is 13% in liquid funds and 10% in ETFs and FoFs.

    ETFs and FOFs derive highest contribution from institutional investors, shows that data. Also, 87% of liquid assets are held by these investors as on September 2023.
