    Who are the top players in the T30 space?

    With close to Rs 7 lakh crore of T30 assets, SBI MF takes the top spot. ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF follow next.

    SBI MF manages the largest T30 asset base of Rs 6.94 lakh crore reveals an analysis of December 2023 average AUM data. ICICI Prudential MF takes the second spot and manages Rs 5.37 lakh crore of these assets. 

    Notably, these are the only two fund houses with an asset base of over Rs 5 lakh crore. 

    HDFC MF, Kotak MF and Nippon India MF take the next three spots with individual asset base of Rs 4.65 lakh crore, Rs 3.21 lakh crore and Rs 3.15 lakh crore, respectively. 

    Following the top five are Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, UTI MF and Axis MF with T30 assets of over Rs 2 lakh crore each. Their AUM respectively stands at Rs 2.62 lakh crore, Rs.2.20 lakh crore and Rs 2.14 lakh crore.

    Finally, the top-10 list closes with Mirae Asset MF and DSP MF who manage Rs 1.31 lakh crore and Rs 1.18 lakh crore, respectively. 

    Besides the above 10, three more fund houses - Bandhan MF, Tata MF and Edelweiss have an asset base of over Rs 1 lakh crore.

    Proportion of average AUM in T30 cities 

    Edelweiss MF has 95% of its average AUM in T30 cities, the highest among others. Likewise, over 90% of assets in the case of Bajaj Finserv MF (93%), 360 ONE MF (92%) and Bandhan MF (91%) are located in these cities.

    Interestingly, 13 fund houses have over 80% (but less than 90%) of assets in T30 cities. These include Kotak MF (89%), Invesco MF (88%), HSBC MF (87%), Mirae Asset MF (85%), Motilal Oswal MF (85%), DSP MF (84%), ICICI Prudential MF (84%), Tata MF (83%), WhiteOak Capital MF (83%), LIC MF (83%), Aditya Birla Sun Life MF (83%), HDFC MF (81%) and Axis MF (81%).
