    SBI, ICICI Prudential and HDFC are the top three fund houses in equity AUM

    These 3 fund houses collectively manage an AAUM of over Rs.14 lakh crore.

    An analysis of equity assets of the top 30 fund houses shows that SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF are the top three equity players. These fund houses collectively manage over Rs.14  lakh crore assets across active and passive funds in December 2023.

    SBI MF tops the equity AUM ranking with a lion’s share of Rs.6.48 lakh crore in equity assets. ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF follow SBI MF with an AUM of Rs. 3.89 lakh crore and Rs. 3.70 lakh crore, respectively.

    Please note that we have included assets from pure equity funds, equity index funds, equity ETFs and a few hybrid categories like aggressive hybrid funds, BAF and equity oriented solution schemes.

    Interestingly, these are the only three fund houses with over Rs 3 lakh crore of average equity AUM in Dec 2023.

    Next are Nippon India MF, Kotak MF and UTI MF with equity assets of Rs 2.49 lakh crore, Rs 2.13 lakh and Rs. 2.01 lakh crore of equity assets, respectively.

    Three more fund houses - Axis MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF and Mirae Asset MF manage over Rs 1 lakh crore of equity assets. They manage Rs 1.67 lakh crore, Rs 1.38 lakh crore, Rs 1.36 lakh crore of average AUM, respectively.

    The top-ten list closes with DSP MF with equity assets of Rs 91,735 crore.

    Overall, the top 30 fund houses have Rs 32.72 lakh crore of equity assets.
