An analysis of three-year performance of hybrid fund categories done by Cafemutual shows that aggressive hybrid funds, multi asset allocation funds and balanced advantage funds are the top three fund categories in terms of performance.
The analysis reveals that aggressive hybrid funds category tops the performance list with average CAGR of 16.07% over the last 3 years ending on December 2023. The benchmark 3-year return was 14.40% during the corresponding period.
Multi asset allocation funds and balanced advantage funds were the next two fund categories with highest 3-year returns. While the multi asset allocation fund category delivered 15.79% average CAGR in 3 years as against benchmark return of 14.04%, balanced advantage funds category gave average 11.82% CAGR in 3 years compared to 11.34% of its benchmark.
Other categories - equity savings funds, conservative funds and arbitrage funds delivered less than 10% returns in 3 years. Of these three fund categories, conservative hybrid funds did better by generating alpha in 3 years.
