    Annual report card: SBI, ICICI Prudential and HDFC continue to hold the top 3 spots

    These 3 fund houses saw their AUM grow by over 20% in one year.

    AMFI data shows that SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF continue to be the top three fund houses in terms of average AUM in March 2024.

    Also, they are the only fund houses to have AUM of over Rs 6 lakh crore each. Individually, SBI MF manages an AUM of Rs 9.41 lakh crore, ICICI Prudential MF has an asset base of Rs 6.83 lakh crore and HDFC MF comes in third with AUM of Rs 6.12 lakh crore.

    The top 3 fund houses manage 41% of the total industry AUM.

    The next spots are taken by Nippon India MF, Kotak MF and Aditya Birla Sun Life MF which have also retained their past financial year ranking. They occupy the fourth, fifth and sixth spot respectively and manage assets of Rs 4.31 lakh crore, Rs 3.81 lakh crore and Rs 3.31 lakh crore, respectively.

    Next, UTI MF, Axis MF and Mirae Asset MF finish seventh, eighth and ninth. They manage an AUM of Rs. 2.90 lakh crore, Rs 2.74 lakh crore and Rs 1.61 lakh crore, respectively.

    The top-ten list closes with DSP MF, which manages assets worth Rs.1.48 lakh crore.

    In terms of AUM growth, SBI has reported the highest absolute increase in AUM from Rs.7.17 lakh crore to Rs.9.14 lakh crore, a growth of over 20% or Rs.1.98 lakh crore.

    In terms of percentage growth, WhiteOak Capital MF has witnessed the highest percentage growth of 73%.

    Overall, the average AUM of all the fund houses has grown by 25% from Rs. 40.51 lakh crore in March 2023 to Rs 54.13 lakh crore in March 2024.

    Further, the quarterly ranking of top 10 fund houses ending in March 2024 remained unchanged.

    However, in terms of growth, SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF, and HDFC MF reported the highest absolute increase in AUM.

    On the other hand, the new entrants in the MF space Zerodha MF and Helios MF have shown the highest percentage growth of 83% and 62%, respectively.
