    SBI MF, ICICI Pru MF and HDFC MF are the top three equity players

    Nine fund houses manage AUM of over Rs.1 lakh crore in equity funds.

    An analysis of AUM of the top 30 fund houses based on their AUM ranking in March 2024 shows that SBI, ICICI Prudential and HDFC are the top players in terms of equity assets. These three fund houses contribute over 40% of the total AUM of the total equity assets of top 30 MFs.

    Here, we have considered the AUM of pure equity funds, aggressive hybrid funds, balanced advantage funds, equity index funds and equity ETFs.

    SBI MF continues to lead the chart with the highest equity AUM of Rs. 6.64 lakh crore. ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF are next with equity assets of Rs. 4.46 lakh crore and Rs. 3.87 lakh crore, respectively. These three fund houses manage equity assets of over Rs. 3 lakh crore AUM each. 

    Nippon India MF and UTI MF occupy fourth and fifth positions with equity AUM of Rs. 2.73 lakh crore and Rs. 2.11 lakh crore, respectively. 
    Kotak MF, Axis MF, Aditya Birla MF, Mirae Asset MF and DSP MF are the next five fund houses in the mentioned order. 

    Overall, the top 30 fund houses collectively manage equity assets of Rs. 34.46 lakh crore.

    In terms of pure equity assets, ICICI Prudential MF leads the pack with pure equity assets of Rs. 2.95 lakh crore. SBI MF comes second with the AUM of Rs. 2.70 lakh crore. HDFC occupies third position with the AUM of Rs. 2.56 lakh crore.

    Further, Nippon India MF, Axis MF, Kotak MF, Mirae Asset MF and Aditya Birla MF have pure equity assets of over Rs.1 lakh crore.

    Similarly, if we look at the AUM of aggressive hybrid funds and balanced advantage funds, HDFC MF has the highest AUM of over Rs.1 lakh crore. 
    SBI MF and ICICI Prudential MF are the next two fund houses with AUM of Rs. 94600 crore and Rs. 88600 crore, respective.

    Talking about passives, SBI MF has the highest passive equity assets of  close to Rs. 3 lakh crore. UTI MF and Nippon India MF are next with the AUM of Rs. 1.17 lakh crore and Rs. 88,200 crore.
