Wedding preparations bring along a slew of expenses. And managing finance becomes a task for many between selecting venues, menus, outfits, and guestlists and costs never seem to end.
An unexpected cash flow issue during this time can lead to big trouble. However, when Bollywood film actress Richa Chadha found herself in a financial crunch during her wedding, her mutual fund investments came to her rescue!
Richa recently featured on the ‘UnStreeOType’ with Yuvaa podcast, sharing that her investment in a mutual fund contributed to covering expenses for her marriage ceremonies. She said, “When we got married, I had to invest in a film also that we were producing and I suddenly had a cash flow issue -- something that typically actors don't have because they find a way around it. But then I had these surging expenses so I actually paid for one ceremony via a mutual fund that I had invested in during Inside Edge."
Chadha also had a strong message for all women saying “Money saved is money earned. Invest in mutual funds, open demat accounts”
She encouraged women to take control of their financial freedom stating married women should have their own bank accounts. She clarifies that while married women can have joint bank accounts they must also have their independent bank accounts. She also urged women to start investing early on so that they can lead financially independent lives.
