An analysis of AUM done by Cafemutual shows that SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF have the highest assets coming from regular plans or through distributors.
SBI MF is leading the chart with a regular AUM of Rs. 4.83 lakh crore. The fund house derives 43% of its total assets from regular plans.
Not so far behind are ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF. While ICICI Pru MF is second on the leaderboard with Rs. 4.68 lakh crore AUM from regular plans, HDFC MF comes a close third with regular AUM of Rs. 4.64 lakh crore.
UTI MF is next on the list with a regular plan of Rs. 2.60 lakh crore. The last entry in the top 5 is Nippon India MF with Rs. 2.59 lakh crore coming from distributors.
Kotak MF and Aditya Birla Sun Life MF have also recorded healthy AUM from regular plans of Rs. 2.51 lakh crore and Rs. 1.97 lakh crore, respectively.
Axis MF is eighth on the list with distributors contributing Rs. 1.76 lakh crore of its AUM. Mirae Asset MF and DSP MF round off the top 10 with regular AUM of Rs. 1.24 lakh crore and Rs. 1.14 lakh crore, respectively.

In terms of proportion of the total assets to the regular plan AUM, Samco MF has the highest share of its AUM coming from distributors at 91%.
Taurus MF is second with 86% of its assets coming from regular plans. WhiteOak Capital is a close third on the list with an 85% share of regular plans in its AUM.
Mahindra Manulife MF and Sundaram MF complete the top 5 with regular plans contributing 82% and 81% to their total AUM, respectively.
Other fund houses with a high proportion of AUM from regular mode include Franklin Templeton MF, NJ Financial MF, ITI MF, Shriram MF and Edelweiss MF.
Overall, the regular AUM of the MF industry is Rs. 37.20 lakh crore. It constitutes 55% of the total MF AUM.
