Which fund houses have the highest debt AUM?

An analysis of MF industry data by Cafemutual shows that SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF have the highest debt AUM in December 2024.

SBI MF comes first with debt AUM of Rs. 2.52 lakh crore. The fund house derives 23% of its total AUM from debt funds.

ICICI Prudential MF is second with assets of Rs. 2.51 lakh crore in debt schemes, which is 28% of its overall AUM.

HDFC MF occupies the third position with AUM of Rs. 2.40 lakh crore from debt schemes, making up 30% of its overall AUM.

Aditya Birla Sun Life MF and Kotak MF complete the top five AMCs in terms of debt assets with Rs. 1.95 lakh crore and Rs. 1.68 lakh crore, respectively. Debt schemes make up 51% and 34% of their AUM, respectively.

Other fund houses with healthy debt AUM include Nippon India MF, Axis MF, Bandhan MF, UTI MF and Tata MF.

In terms of proportion of debt AUM to the total AUM, Bandhan MF has the highest share of its AUM coming from debt schemes at 57%.

Aditya Birla Sun Life MF is second with debt funds making up 51% of its overall AUM. LIC MF is third in the ranking with 44% of its AUM coming  from debt schemes.

Trust MF and Shriram MF also have significant proportion of their total AUM coming from debt funds at 43% and 38%, respectively.

Overall, debt schemes comprise Rs. 18.77 lakh crore of total MF industry AUM, making up about 27% of the total industry assets.

Out of the 43 fund houses in the ranking, 15 fund houses have recorded a higher share of debt AUM than the industry average.
