Responding to Cafemutual’s interview series titled 'After Hours', Nimesh shared some less-known aspects of his personality, such as his childhood fascination with cricket and his desire to revisit his passion for photography—a hobby he hopes to make more time for.
What’s the first thing you do when you get home from work?First thing I do is having dinner with my family. Typically, I reach home around dinner time and it is also the time my family is back from their engagements. We catch up over dinner and spend time laughing and sharing the experiences for the day.
Are you more of a homebody, or do you enjoy going out after hours?Most of the time, I prefer to go out. It may be a walk and talk with some friends. It may be a visit to a café or a restaurant. If it’s a weekend, I enjoy staying out till late.
I’m someone who enjoys going out after hours. Whether it’s going out for a walk or spending time with friends, I prefer being out rather than staying at home.
What’s your guilty pleasure after a tough day—binge-watching shows, picking a book or something else?If I am home after a tiring day, my guilty pleasure is playing my favorite songs and relaxing. Music has a special way of helping me unwind. In a way it’s a peaceful escape and a personal way to reset after a hectic day.
How do you prefer to unwind? A quiet night in or a social evening out with friends?
I prefer a quiet evening out with my loved ones, preferably a calm drive or dining at a good restaurant. I enjoy the simplicity of spending quality time together. It’s a chance for us to relax, share conversations and enjoy
What’s your favorite comfort food or drink at the end of the day?
I prefer a hot Daal-Chawal any day. In terms of drink, I am addicted to coffee.
If you could trade lives with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
If I could trade lives with anyone for a day, it would be the Late Charlie Munger. It would be lovely to tap into his wisdom and learn from his experience. Also, as a bonus, I would get to spend a few hours talking to Warren Buffett.
What’s a childhood memory that still brings a smile to your face?
I used to be crazy about cricket as a kid. During school holidays, my friends knew I will be down in my building 24 hours with my bat and ball to play. It’s a fun and nostalgic memory filled with carefree days, fun and friendship still brings smile to my face.
What’s the last thing you binge-watched or couldn’t stop talking about?
The last show I binge-watched was The Recruit on Netflix. It’s an exciting, action-packed American spy adventure TV series that kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t stop thinking & talking about its plot and story line for days. One of my favorite shows with well-written characters and unpredictable plot twists.
What’s a hobby you’ve always wanted to take up but haven’t yet?
Photography is one of the hobby that I always wanted to take up. Showcasing and clicking images from a different perspective is one of the most satisfying things I can experience. Capturing moments, experimenting with different angles and learning about lighting and composition have always intrigued me.
