    Which fund houses have the highest assets from distributors?

    Distributors contribute Rs. 35.37 lakh crore or 53% to the MF industry.

    Cafemutual analysis of AUM data of fund houses shows that MFDs contribute assets of Rs. 35.37 lakh crore to the MF industry. This constitutes about 53% of the overall industry assets.

    SBI MF, ICICI Pru MF and HDFC MF have the highest assets from distributors.

    SBI MF commands that the highest AUM in regular plans with assets of Rs. 4.64 lakh crore. The fund house derives 44% of the its total assets from regular plans. The regular plans include contribution from associate distributors like SBI Bank and non-association distributors like individual MFDs and NDs.

    ICICI Pru MF is the second in the ranking with regular plan assets of Rs. 4.53 lakh crore, constituting about 52% of its total AUM.

    HDFC MF occupies the third spot with distributor assets of Rs. 4.40 lakh crore, accounting for 58% of the fund house’s total assets.

    Nippon India MF and UTI MF complete the top five with regular plan AUM of Rs. 2.43 lakh crore and Rs. 2.41 lakh crore, forming 44% and 71% of their total assets, respectively.

    The top 10 further include Kotak MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Axis MF, Mirae Asset MF and DSP MF. All these fund houses along with Edelweiss MF have recorded assets of over Rs. 1 lakh crore through distributors.

    In terms of proportion of regular plan assets with respect to the total AUM, Samco MF has the highest share of its assets from distributors at 91%. WhiteOak Capital MF and Mahindra Manulife MF are the next two fund houses with regular plan asset contribution of 86% and 85% of their total assets.

    Taurus MF and ITI MF are other fund houses who have recorded over 80% of their total AUM through distributors.

    NJ MF, Franklin Templeton MF, Sundaram MF, Shriram MF and Canara Robeco MF have also recorded healthy share of their assets coming from regular plans.

    Growth in regular plan AUM in FY25

    Again, SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF are the top three fund houses in terms of growth of assets in regular plans.

    SBI MF is the leader with regular plan AUM growth of Rs. 70,200 crore or 18% while ICICI Pru MF is the second largest fund house with AUM growth of Rs. 68,300 crore or 18% in its regular assets. HDFC MF is the third with increase of Rs. 62,400 crore or 16.5% in its regular plan AUM.

    Nippon India MF and Kotak MF are next two with absolute growth of Rs. 39,400 crore or 19% and Rs. 34,800 crore or 17%, respectively.

    Other fund houses who have registered high absolute growth in their distributor assets include UTI MF, Motilal Oswal MF, DSP MF, Tata MF and Franklin Templeton MF.

    In terms of growth in percentage, Trust MF has seen the highest increase in regular plan AUM of 847%. Old Bridge MF is the second with 407% increase in its distributor assets in FY25 while Groww MF is the third with growth of 259%.

    Helios MF and Bajaj Finserv MF complete the top five with increase of 193% and 174% in their regular plan AUM in the last one year.

    Other fund houses with impressive growth in their regular plan assets include JM Financial MF, Shriram MF, WhiteOak Capital MF, Bank of India MF and Motilal Oswal MF.

    Overall, the regular plan AUM of the MF industry has increased by Rs. 5.06 lakh crore in FY25 from Rs. 30.31 lakh crore in FY 24 to Rs. 35.37 lakh crore in FY25, a growth of 17% increase in a year.
