Fund houses are at war as they strive to protect their businesses. The industry is split with smaller mutual funds accusing the trade body Association of Mutual Funds of India (Amfi) of siding with their larger counterparts. The bone of contention is the recent Amfi move to put a cap on upfront fees mutual funds pay distributors which, the small asset managers feel, is against their interests.
