When something scares you, it’s either ignored or derided. Similarly, many do not appreciate the finance profession because of its complexity. With regard to finance, people either have inadequate knowledge or are just afraid of approaching this subject.
Unfortunately, there is also a perception that all financial products are designed to cheat people.
This book, though not a magic wand, simplifies and breaks down the complexities of financial products. Various principles of financial planning like starting investing early, protecting oneself against eventualities and articulating goals have been narrated in the simplest possible way for laypeople.
This book succeeds in demystifying various myths associated with money which helps people relate to finance in a much better way.
I particularly liked the way Manish has touched upon the concept of insurance, which is peppered with examples. If one would try to understand the concepts of insurance from an actuary, he would go to sleep. Even I would have! That’s the real strength of this book. There is no jargon in it.
Finance can be taught either in a boring or complex manner. This book avoids both approaches. Financial advisors can learn how to explain concepts to their clients through this book.
