The Ministry of Finance has appointed Sat Pal Bhanoo as the interim MD and CEO of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) India.

The appointment is till September or until the regular incumbent takes charge, whichever comes first.

Bhanoo has three decades of experience in the life insurance industry and has previously been at a director level position at IDBI Bank, Insurance Institute of India, LIC Bangladesh, among other assignments.
