WhiteOak Capital Fund has launched its thematic fund, WhiteOak Capital Special Opportunities Fund, an open-ended equity scheme that will follow the special situations theme.

This new fund aims to identify stocks that can benefit from special situations like corporate restructuring, government policy, regulatory changes, technology-led innovations and disruptions, the latest trends and emerging sectors and similar instances.

In a press release, Aashish Somaiyaa, CEO of WhiteOak Capital MF said, “The equity market has remained eventful in the past and is likely to be eventful in future as well. The key is to identify a situation in which stock’s current market price is significantly lower than its intrinsic (fair) value due to an unfavorable event or pessimism about new development. Bottom-up stock selection and in-depth analysis here plays a pivotal role in analyzing the intrinsic value of the stock compared to its market price. This is a where active management of our fund with bottom-up stock selection & strong research expertise will play an important role.”

The fund will be managed by Dheeresh Pathak (Equity), Trupti Agrawal (Assistant Fund Manager - Equity) and Piyush Baranwal (Debt).
