25 years of pvt sector mutual funds: We started with amazing innovations on day one, says Vivek Reddy

Private sector mutual funds are celebrating their silver jubilee in India. It all started when Kothari Pioneer Mutual Fund, a joint venture between Chennai-based Kothari Group and US-based Pioneer Mutual Fund, got a license to operate in India in July 1993. Vivek Reddy, barely thirty at that time, was the founder CEO of Kothari Pioneer. It was he who put together a team that would pioneer many features that today most fund investors take for granted.
