Investors have been pouring money into equity funds over the past few years, particularly through the SIP route. Data from Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi) shows SIP inflows touched record highs in November with Rs 8,272 crore. The number of SIP accounts climbed to 2.94 crore, an addition of 5.33 lakh accounts during the month. However, hidden within these figures were some worrying statistics.
