    Markets regulator Sebi on Wednesday gave time till January 1 to mutual funds' trustees for appointing a dedicated officer, who will assist them in monitoring various activities of asset management companies (AMCs).

    Earlier, trustees were required to appoint a dedicated officer by October 1 to assist them in their work.

    Haha...this is a joke. We all have seen in the case of Franklin which trustee behaved like a fiduciary? The regulator has not uttered a single word against the AMC or their trustees and all this exercise is just an eyewash and just to show to people and the government that they are doing many things to safeguard investors but the truth is they are only doing everything to remove the distributors so that they can maximise AMC's profits. All the regulations are brought after consulting AMFI only who is a lobby of mutual fund companies and we all know what happens then.
