    It is necessary to cap flows to create nimbleness, says Mirae’s Neelesh Surana

    Surana was talking about why Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund has decided to cap SIP investments at Rs 2,5000 from today.

    “In the Indian market, midcaps are not very liquid. Since 50% of the assets (in Emerging Bluechip Fund) are in midcap stocks, it is necessary to cap flows to create nimbleness and agile performance,” Mirae’s chief investment officer Neelesh Surana told ET in an interview. He manages the Emerging Bluechip Fund along with Ankit Jain. Size has become a challenge for one of the top performing equity mutual fund scheme in the past decade.
