The S&P BSE Midcap index is down a little over 8 per cent in the last one year, while select midcap stocks falling up to 70 per cent during this period. The recent fall does make valuations attractive for some of the stocks in the small & midcap space, experts said.
Midcap and smallcap stocks look very attractive after they have fallen from their highs, Shankar Sharma, vice-chairman, First Global. said in an interview with ET. "A contrarian rally keeps happening in every bull or bear market and we should not jump to conclusions," he said.
"One thing I can tell you with conviction is that smallcaps and midcaps look very attractive now that they are down 30-40 per cent (from their peaks)," Sharma said.
