Smaller investors interested in going against the tide on Dalal Street could start investing in mutual fund schemes that bet on technology and pharma stocks. Share valuations of these firms, especially tech, are attractive after their recent declines, though a sharp rebound is unlikely immediately , said fund managers.
In the last one year, returns from technology funds fell 8%, while pharma funds lost 5.2% on account of the sell-off in shares of these companies.While technology companies are bearing the brunt of uncertainty over Britian's impending exit from the Eurozone, pharma firms have been dragged down by regulatory issues in the US. Both the sectors, which are export-oriented, have been among the biggest losers on the bourses of late.
