MFD Vipul Bhuva from Junagadh can write with both hands simultaneously. Interestingly, he can write on a rice grain and sesame seed.
While Vipul sees his talents as God’s gift, he spends a lot of time in practice and sharpening this skill. He believes that regular practice can improve his concentration power and focus.
Vipul was inspired after he read about the record of maximum characters on a postcard during his college days. This intrigued him and he decided to try his hand at it. This is how his journey of self-discovery began and he went on to explore newer skills.
4 lakh characters on a standard 4” by 6” postcard
In 1993, the MFD wrote the autobiography of Motilal and Jawaharlal Nehru comprising 60,786 characters on a standard postcard. This was the first feather in his cap that also found him a place in the Limca Book of records. Later, Vipul broke his own record by writing 4 lakh characters.
26 languages in a telegram
Vipul entered the Limca book of records yet again in 1997 by sending a telegram message in 26 different languages. While he could comfortably write in English, Gujarati and Hindi, he reached out to his personal and professional connects for translation into other languages. It took close to one and a half months to execute and complete this innovative idea.
36 hours of non-stop dictation writing
The MFD went on to set another record in 1998 along with his wife Meeta in an event organised by the Bharat Vikas Parishad (Samutkarsh), Junagadh. While Meeta read out the entire ‘Godaan’ - a famous Hindi novel by renowned author Munshi Premchand, Vipul simultaneously wrote it down in 36 hours using both his hands. Going by the guidelines, the duo was allowed a five-minute break every 2 hours and 20-minute break every six hours.
Ambidextrous and mirror writing
Vipul can write in English, Gujarati and Hindi with both his hands simultaneously and has also mastered mirror writing. This marked his fourth entry in the Limca Book of Records in 1999. While he regularly practised writing with his left hand, mirror writing came naturally to him. Interestingly, he can mirror write with both hands, or mirror write with one hand while writing regularly with the other.
1,000 characters on single rice grain and 400 characters on one sesame seed
With the curiosity to try different things, Vipul replaced a postcard with a grain of rice. Astonishingly, he could write with ease without any magnifying instruments. Starting with five characters, he mastered the art and wrote 1000 characters on a single grain. He has written Gayatri Mantra and Navkar Mantra simply with an ink pen.
Subsequently, he chose a new writing pad i.e. a sesame seed. With sheer practice, he set a new benchmark every time - 47, 67, 87, 115, 150, 380 and finally 400 characters on one seed. He has written all 18 adhyays and 700 shlokas of The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita on sesame seeds with a pencil.
The MFD has been actively distributing mutual funds since 2013. With an AUM of over Rs. 60 crore, he caters to 500 plus clients. Vipul has also made a miniature Indian flag measuring 1.5 mm X 3 mm and a metal flute which is only 3.5 cm in length.
