Jaipur MFD Mukesh Mathur conducted a women-oriented SIP drive and dedicated it to the Laxmi avatar of women. 50 women investors participated in his first ever SIP drive.
Let us know about his SIP drive through this interesting Q&A.
Congratulations on conducting a successful SIP drive Mukesh. Could you share with us what makes this drive special?
This drive is special for me for two reasons.
Firstly, this is my first SIP drive. When I read about a fellow MFD who conducted a SIP drive during Navaratri on Cafemutual, it inspired me to conduct a drive too.
Another important thing that makes this drive special is that it is conducted for women to celebrate their Laxmi avatar.
That’s interesting! What was your rationale behind conducting a women-focused drive?
We all have a Laxmi at our home i.e. wife, sister, daughter or mother. They are the backbone of our families and deserve financial independence. This is why I decided to conduct a women-oriented drive in light of Diwali festivities.
I started preparing for the drive on October 1, 2022 and encouraged existing clients to celebrate the Laxmi avatar of the women in their life by starting a SIP in their name.
Moreover, when a SIP is registered for a loved one, there are emotions involved and investors do not discontinue it.
Also, as Goddess Laxmi signifies wealth, I reached out to women investors and spoke to them about the importance of SIPs in their wealth creation journey.
So, what was the approach here? How did you prepare for the drive?
I promoted my drive through WhatsApp. This garnered curiosity amongst existing clients and I received a good number of enquiries.
I also reached out to women through referrals and also the women who had attended my educational seminars in the past.
I spoke to them about financial independence at length and advised them to save for specific financial objectives. For instance, in the case of working women, I emphasized retirement planning and talked about saving for marriage for single women.
I also made close to 10 calls daily (fresh and follow-ups) and maintained an excel sheet for tracking each development closely.
How was the turnout at the drive?
70 individuals registered 121 SIPs amounting to Rs. 2.25 lakh on November 1, 2022. While the drive mainly focused on women investors, a few male investors showed equal interest as they did it for their spouses or daughters. 50 women (salaried, young adults and homemakers) and 20 men benefited from this drive.
